Ralphi Rosario
Ralphi Rosario was a founding member of the influential Chicago House Originators/DJ group The Hot Mix 5. When this group formed in 1981 on radio station WBMX, Rosario, the youngest member of the group, was still in high school. The Hot Mix 5 went on to become one of the leading forces in the early Chicago house music scene throughout the 80's.
Like other members of the group, Rosario eventually branched out into music production and remixing. In 1987, his collaboration with Xaviera Gold, "You Used to Hold Me," became a big hit for Rosario that was subsequently remixed and re-released several times.
Rosario also went onto to record & produce his own music. Bringing international hits like 'Brinca' and the ever international smash "Take me up (Gotta Get up)" which he recorded with his long time friend Donna Blakely. He also went on to collaborate with long time friend & production partner Abel Aguilera (DJ Abel as he is known) to repeat success as ROSABEL with the classic summer anthems as "Don't you want my love" with Debbie Jacobs; and the international "Cha Cha Heels" with their long time friend Jeanie Tracy. He was also involved in the production of original music for the HBO Series "SEX AND THE CITY" with his production partner Craig J. Snider, during all 6 seasons the show was in operation.
Ralphi Rosario has also had an extensive remix/producer career, making such hits for THE PUSSY CAT DOLLS "Dont'cha", NELLY FURTADO "Promiscusous", and his grammy nominated work in 2011 for RIHANNA as Rosabel once again with "Only Girl (In the world). His remix credits also have involved the many talents of MARIAH CAREY, BEYONCE, MADONNA, THE PET SHOP BOYS, THE TING TINGS, TAIO CRUZ, KELLY CLARKSON, CHER, RICKY MARTIN, ENRIQUE EGLESIAS, JANET JACKSON, GLORIA ESTEFAN, DONNA SUMMER, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, YOKO ONO, and STEVIE NICKS just to name a few.
